In many countries, fireworks are traditionally used to celebrate and usher in the New Year. EASY SOFTWARE AG, too, will accompany this celebration with a fireworks display of a different kind. We will present a colorful package of new versions and new products covering the EASY ECM Suite.
EASY Discovery version 1.0 initiated the kick-off this week. EASY Discovery makes working with information in everyday office life easier. Dependent on the respective activity of the employee, EASY Discovery continually searches for context-related content in the background. In doing so, this solution is capable of concurrently accessing a variety of different information sources. The solution displays the results found with a single click. The user does not need to formulate a search query, nor do they need to switch their current application. Of course, individual permissions are considered here with all information access.
The result is significantly increased access to information by the employee and, resulting from this, higher customer centricity. At the same time, employee motivation and satisfaction are increased. The quality of acquiring information improves, as does productivity and efficiency, particularly with information-based processes. Particularly important are increased decision-making reliability and quality.
Also this week, the new version 15.2 of the EASY ECM Suite will be available. It provides a variety of detail enhancements and optimizations. A great number of constructive responses from EASY ECM Suite projects have been found consideration for the current version.
In EASY Setup, we have particularly updated the basic components, i.e. EASY modules, to the most recent version. Moreover, improving EASY View Plus integration enables availability of a high-performance and detailed view of documents anywhere.
The standard version of EASY Show Case is already supporting even more EASY ECM Suite functionality through customizations such as the enhanced drag and drop feature. All documents, documentation and training courses have also been matched to the new EASY ECM Suite version 15.2.
A great number of components that the suite contains have also been updated as part of the EASY ECM Suite version 15.2.
EASY DMS 5.0 Hotfix 1 (technical name: EASY Documents) provides important extensions and new features as part of the EASY ECM Suite 15.2. We were specifically able to significantly improve communication between EASY DMS and EASY Archive.
The most important features and capabilities in a nutshell: The capability to hierarchically arrange outbars allows further improvement to structure the information and processes, as well as to the use of the application for the user. With the corresponding usage scenarios, extending the rule definitions for number ranges creates even greater flexibility and better customization to operational requirements. Technically, consultants and customers will, above all, benefit from the new scripting methods as well as from the new export classes for XML export.
EASY Archive (technical name: EASY ENTERPRISE.x), too, gets a version update to version 5.1 as part of the EASY ECM Suite 15.2. Significant optimizations include improvements for storage using the new Adaptive Schema, implemented in version 5.0. This optimizes search for information via the Adaptive Schema and integration within the EASY ECM Suite. Storing e-mail messages via EASY for Exchange has been improved and the capabilities of the EE.i Reader have been extended. Accelerated display of log files makes monitoring the solution easier, thereby supporting administrators in their activity.
The new EASY for SAP 5 SR 1 version has also found consideration of numerous responses and requests from partners. Here is an overview of the most important changes:
Scripting Integration Services (SIS) will be officially released with this version.
Advanced consistency checks have improved quality and use of the EASY for SAP Migration toolkit, fixing bugs. The application now also correctly processes very long and deeply nested pool names.
EASY for SAP Archiving Plus (SmartAttach) supports the advanced attributes of the SAP attachment list for this version.
Due to advanced filtering criteria (start and end date), the user can now access information more specifically in the status administration of EASY for SAP Archiving Plus (SING). Error corrections resolve the problem of error messages previously occurring, specifically when using slow systems.
Permission check in the EASY for SAP Archiving Plus (Extended Attachment List) has been improved and errors in the tree view of the folder structures have been fixed.
As part of the new version, we have in addition fundamentally redesigned and optimized existing documentation for EASY for SAP.
With the support of the newest Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016 version, the new EASY for Dynamics NAV 2016 version also still ensures usability of the solution in modern IT environments.
With EASY for Dynamics NAV 2016, we will release the entire tried and tested functionality including revision-proof archiving and the ERP connector for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016. Plus: The new version additionally supports new technical capabilities of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016, such as internal ITTT workflow.
Side by side with the newest EASY for Dynamics NAV 2016 version, a cumulative update for previous EASY for Dynamics NAV versions (2013/2013R2/2015) will be released. The Upgrade Toolkit, which ensures significantly easier migration of pre-versions, is the highlight. In addition, various product improvements were implemented and bugs fixed.
EASY Capture Plus version 5.0 will appear during the first quarter of 2016. With the switch in architecture from 32-bit to 64-bit, this product has been fundamentally redesigned. An important result of this redesign is increased processing speed for the server, as well as the improved capability of processing large documents using Capture Read. The use of EASY Capture Office in 64-bit Office environments, through to Office 2016 (planned), will then also be possible.
Moreover, you can look forward to the optimized connection to EASY Interface (EBIS), the optimized export services and conversion engines, as well as advanced capabilities in the remote query user exit in EASY Capture Plus 5.0. The EASY Capture Configuration Center has also been improved in important details.
Deployment of EASY for Exchange 1.1 is scheduled for February 1, 2016. The release for Exchange 2016 (on premise), Outlook 2016 and Windows 10 ensures maximum flexibility for the use of EASY for Exchange 1.1 in current IT environments. Mobile users of EASY for Exchange will benefit from the support of Outlook Web Access for Exchange 2013 and Exchange 2016, as well as from accessibility to references via smartphones (not vendor specific).
EASY for Exchange capabilities are extended through complete support of public folders also during add-in search; the capability for PST import and export increases flexibility in data management.
EASY for Exchange 1.1 significantly increases usability by implementing long expected functionality. For example, e-mail messages can now be restored from references in the mailbox as well as from the hit lists in the restoration folder. System messages of the add-ins were transferred to the system tray (balloon tips). Management of EASY for Exchange 1.1 is simplified for administrators through the configuration capability via AD groups.
The focus of development for the EASY Interface version (technical name: EBIS) during the first quarter of 2016 will be, above all, on the module’s optimizations in interaction with the adaptive storage in EASY Archive, and in the improvements of integration with the ECM Suite. In addition, performance will still be optimized.
Increasing usability is also one of the major topics for the new EASY for SharePoint 5.1 version, scheduled for the first quarter of 2016. Besides basic optimization of EASY for SharePoint performance, users will benefit from a variety of minor and major improvements. These include the capability to immediately archive selected elements, integrate EASY archives with the native SharePoint search via Business Connectivity Services (BCS), display EASY archives as lists and libraries via External Content Types, or use original icons for archived files.
Supporting Federated Search, in addition to the SharePoint search engine, increases employee flexibility. Optimized setup enables easier and thus secure implementation.
EASY for Dynamics AX 2012 extends usability of the solution also to the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 version (previously, R2 only). In addition to some troubleshooting issues, this new version also focuses on increasing usability. A drop zone for capturing documents in the AX client eases the daily workload on employees; administrators may look forward to a configurable subsequent archiving capability and deployment of cleanup tools for print archive and document handling.
The new EASY HR 3.0 version will also be released during the first quarter of 2016. EASY HR is the efficient modular solution for modern personnel departments, because EASY HR effectively eases the load on your personnel department, and immediately increases the entire company’s efficiency.
EASY HR convinces through its convenient and intuitive use, logged and site-independent access to files, as well as significantly faster storage of and search for files and documents. EASY HR lets you optimize your recruiting activity and achieve better performance and increased employee satisfaction through optimized training and seminar management. For this purpose, specialized modules and supplementary add-ons are available.

The new EASY for Dynamics AX Invoice Level 3 version, scheduled for the first quarter of 2016, will round off this list of new products. This solution supports AX 2009 and 2012 R2, as well as SharePoint 2010 and 2013, and can thus be used more flexibly in different system environments.
In terms of functionality, editability of invoice data prior to posting it in the workflow incl. automatic postback in AX are to be particularly highlighted, as well as the initial two-factor workflows (audit/computational check) already in the AX ledger. In Nintex workflow, the new version supports split allocation (“GenTable” function) and entering up to six dimension values. Tax rates can be directly integrated at position level. Moreover, workflow allows direct delegation of tasks in the workflow, and all additional information entered can be completely transferred to AX.
