EASY goes electric

The first Mülheim-based enterprise to go electric, EASY SOFTWARE AG has extended its fleet with a company vehicle driven by electric power. The car dealer Wolf recently delivered its Audi A3 Sportback e-tron car. This is a plug-in hybrid model combining electric drive with a combustion engine. Hybrid mode makes sense for long distance routes where the vehicle’s electronic system decides itself which engine is the more efficient one. Whereas electric mode comes in for short-distance routes. Only for car speeds in excess of 130 km/h will the gasoline engine come in.

According to the manufacturer, the e-tron car offers a range of 940 km, of which you can drive up to 50 km all electric. The combined fuel consumption is reputed to be between 1.5-1.7 liters per 100 km, and CO2 emission combined at only 35-39 grams per kilometer, compared to conventional models.

“To us, procuring the first company vehicle with electric drive is a symbol of the future. Being a responsible company, topics such as sustainability and efficiency are also on our agenda. Consequently, we will use green energy and fill up the e-tron car with green energy from hydropower,” says EASY CEO Willy Cremers.

If the e-tron car meets expectations with regard to economy and environmental protection, procuring more hybrid models will certainly be a feasible option for EASY SOFTWARE AG.
